DIGITAL FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER |

The DFS Module has been designed as a teaching tool that will let the students experiment with a circuit that is very common in RF equipment, yet seldom found in the school labs.
The circuit of DFS
is fundamentally very similar to the ones used in all present-day frequency-synthesized
receivers and transmitters with digital tuners. Actual Short-Wave broadcast
frequencies between the 120m – 11m bands can all be synthesized with the DFS
circuit. |

ICL |
INFRARED COMMUNICATION LINK

The ICL Module is a full-duplex modem designed for experimentation with communication concepts based on Frequency-Shift Keying, Phase-Locked-Loop circuits, IR modulators and demodulators, test transmissions and loop-back testing. The accompanying Control Panel application demonstrates basic principles of serial communications. The module has both transmitters and receivers, so a link between two PC's can be established using two of these modules
On-board test points and configuration jumpers allow various observations and experimentation. |

The Challenge Modules will help take experimentation to the
next level, by allowing the students to redesign the circuit and see
right away how well the new design works.
